New York born actor, Abbott Alexander inherited the mantle of acting from his father, Philip Abbott, veteran character whose filmography includes cult classic The Invisible Boy, Bachelor Party, Spiral Road, Sweet Bird of Youth, and star of original ABC television series, The FBI.
Alexander starred in the NBC daytime dramas Lovers and Friends and For Richer, For Poorer. He is a member of the Actors Studio and his many award winning stage performances include the west coast premier of Hugh Leonard’s Irish Legacy A Life, and was nominated for Best Actor by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle for his role in Tennessee Williams’s Kingdom of Earth.
Alexander’s credits also include the role of the “Anthem Sprinter – Doone” in Ray Bradbury’s comedy Falling Upward!, which premiered at Garry Marshall’s Falcon Theatre. In the independent feature film Starry Night, directed by Paul Davids, Alexander played Vincent Van Gogh. The film premiered at the Montreal Film Festival and later received distribution through Universal Pictures VHS and DVD, as well as airing on Starz-Encore Cable.
He also starred in Theatre West’s 40th – anniversary revival of Spoon River Anthology, directed by original Broadway cast member Betty Garrett. Alexander played the same numerous roles his father played many years prior at the legendary landmark theatre.
